WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President-elect Donald Trump on Friday named his earliest and staunchest supporter in the Senate, conservative Republican Jeff Sessions, to become the next U.S. attorney normal, triggering an outcry from civil rights teams in addition to some conservatives outside Congress who are uneasy about Sessions’ positions.
Sessions meets with Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. He voted against her nomination, which was made be President Barack Obama. Critics charged that by firing Comey on May 9, Trump was attempting to hinder the FBI’s Russia probe. The former FBI chief added fuel to that accusation with his testimony final week. Trump has denied he tried to intrude with the probe. Sessions has ushered in a new period at DOJ – one which cherishes the Constitution and its safety of our freedom from government oppression.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission accused the company and former Chief Executive Officer William Mapp of selling personal stock while deceptive traders concerning the power efficiency of its sole product, and accused Paxton of working to raise investor funds for the corporate without disclosing his commissions.
